1960s Retro Warm Toned Floral Repurposed Headband
So, I have a funny story about this one (Ok, it's not exactly hilarious, but hear me out!)
When my boyfriend and I moved into our lovely little 1970's bungalow, it had no curtains - and being on a tight budget, we were really struggling to find any big enough for the gorgeous big windows.
One day, I was in my local reclamation shop, and I found this amazing pair of green and blue 1960's floral curtains, in the exact measurements - of course, I snapped them up, took them home and hung them in our bedroom. I adored them, and they looked great with the tropical print bedding I had at the time.
Fast forward a couple of years, I'm in the exact same shop, rummaging through the exact same basket of vintage fabrics, when I spy this fabric. And lo and behold, it's the exact same pattern - but instead of blues and greens, it's these amazing rich reds, pinks and oranges. I don't need to tell you that I snapped it right up!
Unfortunately, this pair weren't the right size for any of the windows, so I set about reusing the fabric in some other gorgeous ways - it's been used on a denim jacket, and now it's made its way into some headbands - but I'm now thinking, what would the blue version of this look like in a headband...?
All of our headbands are handmade with repurposed materials, giving them a whole new lease of life. They are hand sewn in my Cornish studio and carefully glued around the headband. The headband itself is soft, comfortable and doesn't pinch behind the ears! These must not be machine washed - if needed, just wipe over with a damp cloth to clean.
