Vintage 1960s Autumnal Print Brown and Orange Dress - Size 10
This is one of the most gorgeous fits I've ever seen on a dress - the attention to detail is impeccable, which, alongside the beautiful colour palette which is delightfully typical of the era it was made makes for a really striking piece.
The shoulders are softly gathered to create a slightly puffed shoulder silhouette, and then the shoulders each feature a soft dart which keeps them narrow, fitted and rounded. There is a gorgeous curved under bust seam which creates a modern empire-line shape with a soft, knee length a-line skirt.
The neck is high with a narrow, stand-up collar which fastens at the back with two hook and eye fastenings, and a long metal zip to fasten.
There's no labels in the dress so I believe it's likely to have been a homemade sewing project and oh my they've done the most beautiful job - over 50 years later and she's still going strong.
Size 10 or even a small 12, pictured on a size 12 mannequin.
